SHEET METAL FABRICATOR (Rollformer & Trim Shop Operator):

Discount Metal Mart has a zero tolerance policy for violence and drug use in the work place.

JOB TYPE: 

• Plant City Location
• Full-time
• Monday - Friday (6:45 AM - 5:15 PM)
• Saturdays (7:45 AM - 2:15 PM)
• Must be able to work any of the above open hours. Saturdays are typically required every other week

REQUIREMENTS:

• Preferably 2+ years experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment operating heavy equipment (specific equipment includes: Rollformer, Shear Machine and Trim Folding Brake Machine)
• Must have 2+ years experience operating a forklift, managing loads up to 9,000 lbs and/or more than 25 ft long
• Ability to lift 50lbs without assistance several times throughout the day
• Ability to read a tape measure without cheater markings required
• Desire and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Pass a drug test
• Reliable transportation
• Able to withstand the hot Florida elements with prolonged standing, lifting, bending, etc.
• High School Diploma or GED
• Criminal records will be considered if details are provided and a background check matches those details

JOB DETAILS: 

• Operate rollformer computer screen to enter orders and manufacture various profiles of metal roofing panels
• Process paperwork for each order, detailing the coil lot number used
• Fabricate light gauge flashing components for metal roofing trim packages
• Shear flat sheets and fold into specific trim flashing profiles using a brake machine
• Operate sit-down forklift to move large metal coils weighing up to 9,000 lbs around the facility and load orders in customers' vehicle/trailer
• Put up and pull accessory as needed such as screws, closures, tacky tape, etc.
• Materials used are 29ga, 26ga and 24ga sheet metal coils in Galvalume and various painted colors
