TERMS & CONDITIONS

1. CANCELLATION, MODIFICATION, AND RETURN POLICY

CUSTOM MANUFACTURED ITEMS: Once an order has been placed and paid for a custom manufactured item and it has gone into production, it cannot be cancelled. Due to the speed an order is completed once it goes into production, the ability to cancel or modify orders once they have been placed is not guaranteed. All panel orders and custom trim orders are non-refundable once they have been manufactured. 

SECONDARY STOCK PANELS: Stock panels in #2 Galvalume material are non-refundable once they leave the property.

STOCK ITEMS: Standard trim and some limited accessories are refundable as long as they are returned in a clean, re-saleable condition within 72 hours of leaving the property. Any accessories relying on climate control environments (IE: anything with adhesive) are not returnable. 

Restocking charges may apply.

 

2. PHONE ORDERS

Discount Metal Mart (DMM) gladly accepts phone orders but prefers orders in writing via email, text, or in person delivery to minimize errors. All orders, by phone or in person, require sign-off to confirm the order is correct. Once the cut sheet has been approved by the customer, DMM is only responsible for completing the order to the cut sheet specifications. Understanding the product and it's specifications is the customer's responsibility.


3. PRICING

The sheet metal industry fluctuates in pricing. All pricing is subject to change without notice.


4. SALES TAX

All orders are subject to sales tax unless a current sales tax exemption certificate is provided prior to sale. It is the responsibility of the customer to notify us of their tax exempt status.

 

5. PAYMENT TERMS

PAYMENT TIMING: All orders must be paid in full prior to manufacturing. 

PAYMENT TYPES: We accept the following forms of payment: Credit Card (VISA, MC, DISCOVER, AmEx), Debit Card, Checks, & Cash.

PAYMENT BY PHONE: We will not take your Credit Card number over the phone. A payment link will be provide via email or text. If paying via link, you must present the credit card and photo ID proving you are the card holder when you pick up your order.

RETURNED CHECKS: There will be a service charge for all returned checks.

 

6. ORDER ACCURACY

PRIOR TO MANUFACTURING: Customer is responsible for checking all orders for accuracy and signing off before manufacturing. All cut lengths, quantities, color, metal thickness and profile shape are to be provided by the customer and not based on comments or suggestions of any employee or representative of Discount Metal Mart. Once the cut sheet has been approved by the customer, DMM is only responsible for completing the order to the cut sheet specifications.


AT PICK-UP: Customer is responsible for ensuring their order is correct prior to loading and leaving the property. Once the product leaves the property, DMM cannot be responsible for accuracy of orders sitting at a job site.


7. MISCELLANEOUS AND CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITIES

A) This contract shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Florida.

B) Customer assumes all responsibility for applying city, county and state codes and guidelines applicable to work performed.


8. MATERIAL NOTES

A) GALVALUME #1 MATERIAL

Uniform visual appearance (color, spangle, shadow spots and striping) of acrylic-coated galvalume panels cannot be guaranteed. Non-uniform surface appearance (color, spangle, shadow spots and striping) may occur over time. It does not represent a deficiency in the material, nor does it affect any warranties which may be in place, and it is not a reason for rejection. 

B) GALVALUME #2 MATERIAL

Customer purchases #2 material (Secondary Material) at their own risk. Secondary Material is not acceptable for permitted projects. Secondary Material was rejected during the quality control process during manufacturing of #1 material due to deficiencies in the coating process. These deficiencies could show up as discoloration of the metal, flaking of the coating, wavy edges, etc. This product is priced according to these potential flaws.


9. STORAGE PROCEDURES 

  • Damage will result if uninstalled panels or trim are allowed to remain wet in storage. Be sure to store material that will not be installed immediately in a dry location. Wet material should be air-dried and re-stacked when installation is not planned right away.
  • If storing metal panels, flat sheets, and trim items before installation is a necessity, every effort should be made to store the items indoors in a dry environment. 
  • The best storage procedure is to stand the metal panels on end against an interior wall and to fan out the bottom to provide positive air circulation and moisture run-off. 
  • If panels must be stored stacked, store the bundle elevated on wooden dunnage in an inclined position. Also, break the shipping bands to allow the bundle to expand. 
  • Metal panels should never be stored anywhere they are in contact with moisture and should be stored outdoors only when absolutely necessary. 
  • Plastic sheeting or tarps should not be used to cover the metal panels because they do not allow for proper ventilation. A canvas cover may be used if it does not allow moisture to be trapped. 
  • If the above precautions are not taken and moisture is allowed to accumulate and be trapped in the metal panels, superficial staining may occur. 
  • If moisture remains in the panel bundle for an extended period failure of the paint system and corrosion of the metal panels is possible. 
  • Failure to comply with the above recommendations immediately voids any and all warranties available from any manufacture for the metal panels, flat sheets, or trim items.

 

10. PRESSURE-TREATED LUMBER 

  • Direct contact with pressure-treated lumber to metal roofing should be avoided to prevent potential corrosion or discoloration of the metal and could void any and all warranties.
  • Stainless steel screws should be used when securing metal panels to pressure treated lumber to avoid corrosion and degradation of the fastener. 


11. METAL SHAVINGS 

  • Carborundum blades or electric saw blades, will leave hot metal shavings that can burn paint surfaces and/or leave rust marks on panels and trim. The installation of screws could also leave shavings on the roof. 
  • Clean all metal shavings and particles off the roof to avoid unsightly rust stains.
  • Metal roof panels and trim should not be cut while on the roof.


12. PICK UP DISCLAIMER NOTICE

  • Discount Metal Mart sincerely appreciates your business. Unfortunately, our facility does not have the capacity to store material in the volume that we are producing. Therefore, it is important orders are picked up promptly after the first notification. We will make every attempt possible to notify you via the contact information provided and verified by the customer at time of purchase.
  • If product is not picked up within 15 business days from 1st notification that it is ready, storage fees will be added and calculated at $15 per day.
  • After 30 business days, material becomes the ownership of Discount Metal Mart.
  • Customer is responsible for securing their own load at pick-up.
  • In accordance to Florida State Law, orders extending more than 4 ft from a vehicle’s taillights will not be loaded by a Discount Metal Mart representative nor by the customer.
  • Customer assumes all responsibility for any loss or damage due to the transportation or failure to secure their order properly. 


13. DELIVERIES

  • Unfortunately, Discount Metal Mart does not provide delivery. Eliminating this service allows us to keep our prices low for the consumer.
  • Third party delivery services are available and we are happy to connect you to them. 
  • Prices for this service are established by the third party vendor and payment is made to them directly.
